Achievement Day 2023

Thursday April 20, 2023

On April 8, We Held Our Annual Achievement Day at Flourish!

If you’re not already familiar with Achievement Day, it is a non-competitive event where students receive written feedback from experienced music educators. Students perform two pieces of music, and complete “options” such as a creative project, scales, etc.

We had 51 students participate this year! Pictured are all of the participants with their certificates. We are so proud of them!

Doran Azari retired from teaching and directing orchestras in Greeley/Evans School District 6 after spending over 30 years affiliated with the music programs in almost all of the secondary schools in Greeley. Mr. Azari also performed professionally as a violist in several professional symphony orchestras including the Greeley Philharmonic for over 25 years, and he has served as a conductor and music director for various musical theater groups and the Greeley Chamber Orchestra.

Katilyn Rittner currently serves as the Coordinator and Instructor of Class Piano at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). Outside of her professorial duties at UNC, Ms. Rittner maintains an active coaching and collaborative piano career. She regularly collaborates with Aims Community College, The Greeley Chorale, The Loveland Opera Theatre, and many other musical organizations.

Some recent local highlights include the Colorado premiere of Howard Goodall’s Eternal Light: A Requiem, a benefit concert for the 15th Anniversary of the attacks of 9/11, and a collaboration with composer Robert Strobel, premiering The Coronavirus Etudes for piano solo.
