Response to COVID-19

Monday March 16, 2020

Flourish is moving online; location is closed for time being.

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, Flourish Music Academy has made the following decisions to help ensure the safety of our students and the wider community:

FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS:

Intro lessons are not available at this time. If you are interested in starting lessons, we will be happy to let you know when intro lessons have opened again so you can attend and get registered. You can get in touch with us via the website or phone (970-573-5856) to be notified when intro lessons are opened again.

The March Special (25% off certain Accelerated classes) has been postponed. We will run the special again later when we are able to host intro lessons for new students.

You can go ahead and register for summer camps/workshops HERE.

FOR CURRENT STUDENTS:

Achievement Day on April 4 and all Dress Rehearsal Lessons from March 30-April 3 have been cancelled.

Regular lessons the week of March23 – 28 (after Spring Break) as well as any makeup lessons scheduled March 30 – April 3 will all be conducted online. Students are asked to not come physically to the Flourish location.

We are currently working on the easiest solution to get everyone set up for online lessons, being able to use any device you have at home. We will be sending out information on how to access your online lessons by the end of Spring Break week.

For any students who are ill and who otherwise cannot participate in an online lesson, extra group makeup lessons will be added later in the semester (hopefully in May but we will see). These are open to any student who has missed a lesson for illness or emergency at any time. We already host special makeup lessons for illness throughout the year, but we will be adding extra makeup lesson slots in response to this crisis. They also can be used to makeup for the cancelled Dress Rehearsal lessons.

We will continue to monitor the situation and make more updates as needed for lessons after April 5.

As a reminder, there are no scheduled lessons this upcoming week (March 15 – 22) for Spring Break and the school is closed.

We hope that online lessons will help be able to keep everyone safe while also helping to maintain a sense of normalcy while we all try to get through this crisis together.

In fact, science has shown that music can help boost the immune system (most likely by decreasing stress – see more HERE) so continuing to play and sing can be very beneficial for you and/or your children!
