Thursday October 1, 2020

This month, we’re excited to feature voice student Ainsley Haggin!

Ainsley, a current 8th grader at Chappelow Arts Magnet School, studies with Miss Julie at Flourish. She is a former member of the Greeley Children’s Chorale, and is currently involved in advanced band.

In addition, Ainsley has performed in musicals since 2nd grade! Those musicals include Princess and the Pea, Whale Of a Tale, Addams Family, and Xanadu (pictured), as well as Stampede Troupe productions of Annie Jr. and Frozen Jr.

Read more about Ainsley in the interview below!

Addams Family

How long have you taken voice lessons?

This is my first year taking voice lessons from Flourish, but my second year doing voice lessons.

What do you love about singing?

What do I not love about singing? I truly have loved singing ever since I was little, the emotion, the expression, I love all of it, and honestly it makes me feel carefree. Singing is such a delightful thing that I do almost every day.

You’ve been involved in several theatre productions in the area. What do you love about theatre?

Theater is truly an escape to a world all its own. I like to think, when working on a production, I have a huge family that I get to perform it with. And theater has led me to meet some of the most delightful and kind people I have ever met.

What do you like about Flourish?

Although I haven’t been working with Flourish that long, I have found to love it deeply. Everyone, especially Miss Julie,  is so nice and patient, and very supportive. I was so nervous for the first recital, but the reassurance I had received made feel so much better.

What else do you like to do?

I like to doodle, and I love long walks about my neighborhood. I love to travel with family, and try new things. I also love plants, if I could I would start a whole garden in my room!
