This month, we’re excited to feature piano student Allison Guzman!
Allison, a 5th grader at University Schools, studies piano with Ms. Grace Ann McCaulie. She recently participated in the rigorous RCM exams, and we’re happy to report that she received the highest score in the state for Prep A Piano! As a result, Allison has been invited to play in the RCM Regional Celebration of Excellence Virtual Recital this month. This is a HUGE honor, and we’re so proud of her!

How long have you taken piano lessons?
I have been playing piano for about 2 years.
What do you love about playing piano?
I love playing the piano because it is calming.
You won the State Award for achieving the highest score in the state for RCM – Prep A Piano! What was it like to prepare for the RCM exam?
Preparing for the RCM exam takes lots of practice.
What do you like about Flourish?
I like Flourish because there’s always an instrument playing when I walk in.
What else do you like to do?
I like to do art and listen to music while I play games. I also am a competitive figure skater.
