STUDENT SPOTLIGHT – CARRIGHAN PLEMMONS

Thursday March 7, 2019

This month, we’re excited to feature Carrighan Plemmons!

Carrighan is currently studying violin under the guidance of Ms. Belén Hernández. Carrighan attended the violin summer camp last year and then begun taking private lessons. She successfully completed two levels in the Achievement program in 6 months.

Carrighan recently wrote a composition and performed it at the Composition Festival 2019. Her love for the violin and her constant dedication are inspiring!

Here is a little bit more about Carrighan (Violin, 5th grade, Aspen Hollow Homeschool):

How long have you taken violin lessons?
I attended the violin summer camp and loved it so much that I wanted to join Flourish Music Academy. My Nana believed in my dreams and paid for me to join FMA in August of 2018. I’ve been playing violin for seven months.

What do you love about playing the violin?
I love the way the violin sounds and I love my violin teacher Mrs. B.

You moved up to Level 1 in the Achievement program in less than two months and only a few months later advanced to Level 2. What are the obstacles you had to overcome for these achievements?
I moved up two levels very quickly because I practice every day, even on weekends. I practice 30 to 45 minutes each day.

What do you like about Flourish?
I love that Flourish Music Academy has so many fun challenges and rewards. I also like that there are many different recitals to participate in.

What else do you like to do?
In my free time I spend time with my pet bunny named Staccato. I also spend time with my sister Charlotte. She is 4 and she wants to be just like me when she grows up and play violin. I also like to sew on my sewing machine, crochet, and read. I am reading all the Nancy Drew mysteries right now.
