Student Spotlight – Elliott Leffler

Friday September 15, 2017

Elliott has studied piano since January of 2017. He is in 3rd grade at Christa McAuliffe school. In May, Elliott won the Elementary Division of the Greeley Area Music Teacher’s Association Spring Competition! Way to go, Elliott! We are proud of you and so excited to see where you will go at Flourish!

Here are some questions we asked Elliott so you can get to know him a little better:

What do you love about playing your instrument?

For me it is a challenge. I have had a piano in my house since I was 2 months old, and I was goofing off on it since I was three so I kinda had a passion for it. It was part of my life.

What is an obstacle you had to overcome to play piano?

Reading the notes and finding out what the bars and notes are on the staff; it was a challenge when I started, but when I got the hang of it, it made more sense.

What do you like about studying piano at Flourish?

I have teachers who have a lot of experience with the piano. And the pianos at Flourish are nicer than ours! I like the recitals and the lessons are great. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

What else besides music do you like to do?

I am very athletic, I can remember my first word was “ball”. Right now I am playing baseball, I hope to play football. I also like to play hockey. I have been on skates since I was three.
