STUDENT SPOTLIGHT – Fiona Ware

Saturday June 11, 2022

This month, we’re excited to feature piano student Fiona Ware!

Fiona studies with Ms. Julie, and is currently in Prep B in the Achievement Program. She will be a 2nd grader at Winograd K-8 School this fall!

Here’s what Ms. Julie had to say about Fiona:

“Fiona is an absolute joy to work with! She is a quick learner, and often goes above and beyond expectations. Recently, she participated in the Practice Challenge, and won the Benefactor Award for raising the most money for the Weld Food Bank! Fiona is not only a wonderful student; she has a big heart.”

Read more about Fiona in the interview below!

How long have you taken piano lessons?

Not quite 2 years (began at Flourish in winter of 2020).

What do you love about playing piano?

I have an electric piano, so I love to play around with the different sounds it makes, turning songs I know into new songs! I also love how different pianos sound different too!

You recently won the Benefactor Award for raising the most money for the Weld Food Bank during the Practice Challenge! Why was this fundraiser important to you?

I like that the food bank helps feed people who are hungry because it’s not fun being hungry. When you’re hungry, you’re not happy. I’ve also volunteered at the food bank with my class packing onions, so I’ve seen how the food bank works to feed people.

What do you like about Flourish?

My teacher Ms. Julie! I like that my lessons are just the two of us.

What else do you like to do?

Be outside! Riding my bike in my neighborhood or hiking in the mountains!
