How long have you taken guitar and voice lessons?
I’ve been taking guitar for about 2 years and voice for about 5 months.
What do you love about each of these instruments?
Guitar is a very popular instrument, I love the sounds you can create with the guitar from classical, country and many other genres. It’s an instrument people can relate too and it’s an instrument I’ve always been drawn to.
Voice is another way of expressing yourself, like my teacher Megan said it’s like a meditation And I feel that way. I love learning about the voice and how the muscles and breath work together to create sound. These instruments are a hobby and I would like to see how far I can go as an adult who started late.
You’re working on classical repertoire in both of your lessons. What draws you to classical music?
I am drawn to classical music naturally, it’s the sounds it creates, the technique and structure. It gives you a good base and if you want to spread to other genres you can.

I danced professionally at Epcot Center in Florida with the “World Dancers” and for me anything that will get me out in nature – hiking, camping…
