This month, we’re excited to feature piano student Sam Goad!
Sam, an 8th grader at Dayspring Christian Academy, is a student of Ms. Ivana. He participated in this year’s RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) exams, and received two awards: State Certificate of Excellence and Center Certificate of Excellence, Level 2 Piano. The RCM exam is quite rigorous, so we’re extremely proud of Sam’s hard work!
Sam also participated in this year’s MusicTogether camp, where he worked with other Flourish students in an ensemble setting.

How long have you been taking piano lessons?
I have been taking lessons at Flourish for two years, but in total, I have been taking lessons for 6 years.
What do you love about playing piano?
I love everything about piano!
How did you prepare for the RCM exam?
How I prepared for the RCM exam was to practice a lot and learn a lot of different things.
What do you like about Flourish?
I like Flourish because it doesn’t have a strict curriculum. So, I can pick some of the songs that I want to play.
What else do you like to do?
I also like to read.
